Summary:This lesson reviews the linking verb list and introduces the two sentence patterns: Subject-Linking Verb-Predicate Nominative and Subject-Linking Verb-Predicate Adjective. Lesson activities include identifying subjects, linking verbs, and their complements as well as eliminating prepositional phrases. Other activities include moving the predicate adjective in front of the subject and inverting subjects and predicate nominatives. A song to help students memorize the linking verbs is included as well as links to interactive online games.
