A+ Tips for Capitalization: Times and Events

Total views: 3307

In this lesson, students find and mark words needing capitals. The following tips are given individually with many opportunities for practice. Capitalize the months of the years, days of the weeks, and holidays including the words “day” and “eve.” Capitalize historical events and periods of time (e.g., The Great Depression followed World War 1.). Capitalize the proper names of special events (e.g., Pikes Peak Rodeo). Do not capitalize the names of the seasons. This lesson is part of a series, A+ Tips for Capitalization, which covers capitalization rules needed by students in grades 4 through 7. It can be presented as a single lesson, or used for daily reinforcement by covering a tip a day. The lesson ends with a ten question Mimio Vote quiz.

I love your capitalization

I love your capitalization lessons! You put a lot of work into them, making the objectives easy to follow and understand. Students have plenty of opportunity to practice as well. Thanks for sharing!
