This series of lessons include lessons on bar graphs, line graphs, and pie charts.
Students will analyze bar graphs and answer factual and inferential questions about the information presented in the bar graphs. Students will compare accurate vs. inaccurate bar graphs, identify instances of each, and determine any errors in inaccurate bar graphs. Students will use data or information provided to them to complete bar graphs. Students will analyze line graphs and answer factual and inferential questions about the information presented in the line graphs. Students will compare accurate vs. inaccurate line graphs, identify instances of each, and determine any errors in inaccurate line graphs. Students will use data or information provided to them to complete line graphs. Students will examine pie charts and answer factual and inferential questions about the information presented in the pie charts. Students will compare accurate vs. inaccurate pie charts, identify instances of each, and determine any errors in inaccurate pie charts. Students will use data or information provided to them to complete pie charts. These lessons are part of a series of 45 interactive whiteboard units providing more than 135 lessons for grades 3-8. The MimioScience lessons were originally created as interactive lessons to address the newly-released Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). MimioScience distills science teaching to its fundamental core elements: concepts, principles, and processes. The curriculum supports the NGSS objective of identifying what students can do by providing a set of grade-appropriate activities that give students a way to apply and extend what they’ve learned through application and inquiry. Each lesson works on Mimio interactive whiteboards as well as those from other vendors.
Look for other units on MimioConnect as we release them dealing with Physical Science and Science Processes.
