Summary: A MimioConnect user recently wrote in asking for help in creating a pocket chart to use with a phonics curriculum. We are happy to share our expertise with any community members who may have similar needs and hope that our community continues to grow with users who are eager to learn like this member! The activity here is a simple, interactive pocket chart where students move letter cards to create CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) or CCVC and CVCC words. Depending on your preference in how you you will use the activity, the letter cards are available as a gallery (.mcf) file, but also on each activity page. Feel free to adapt this to meet your classroom needs. Thank you to our MC user for having the idea behind this great activity!
If you would prefer to use the letters directly from your gallery rather than having them cloned at the bottom of the page, be sure to import the gallery file shared here also.
The "Pocket Chart Word Builder PLUS: CVC" lesson has been added as an extension of the activity introduced here. Notice that the activity has been put into what would be more of a full lesson with a whole class assessment option at the end with MimioVote. Adapt and revise the pocket chart activity to suit your curriculum or classroom needs and share here how you have made it even better!
