mimio Power Tools Pack v1

Samenvatting:

The mimio Power Tools Pack v1 contains three different tools that will add power to your mimio lessons:

* Pop Reveal
Place a balloon over content and click to pop to reveal it. Click again to blow the balloon back up to hide the content. Available in a range of candy-flavored colors.

* Write Reveal
Place square multi-colored reveals over content and then click-drag to draw on the reveal itself. Click the shaded bar to reveal your content underneath. Use to encourage contribution before checking answers.

* Answer Reveal
These invisible reveals can be placed over content to make anything instantly interactive. Click to get feedback (right/wrong) and click again to reset. Great for self-guided interactive Q&A activities.

The mimio Power Tools Pack v1 comes with an overview file explaining each tool and providing examples of how to use them in interactive lessons.

Power Pack Tools

Amazing! These tools will add a new level of fun to my lessons this year. I just received my Mimio equipment, and I am so thrilled to be learning how to integrate these files into my teaching. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, Power Pack Tools are helpful!

I was just hoping for another bubble color to work with, black in particular, and this power pack had that. Many thanks for all those who share!

not working right

My balloon pops and answer correct etc do not work correctly. I can hear them fill up with air but visually nothing is happening. The shade that goes up and down does not do anything? This is not just with lessons I created but also with the lessons I downloaded. Please help!!!

I have the same problem.

I am using a MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.4, 2.26 GHz Dual Core Processor with 2GB of RAM. Specs should not be an issue, as this computer is more than powerful enough to run Mimio Power Tools. I'm just wondering if this is a Mac specific problem.

I click on balloons and hear the pop/blow-up sounds, but the balloons do not actually pop.

The "reveal" effect also does not work. No animation at all, just a gray slate with a slider that doesn't slide.

Mimio doesn't work with the most recent version of flash

If you send an email to the mimio tech guys, they'll send you an uninstaller for the latest version and they'll also send you the older version to install. I was having the same issues and once I put the old flash version back (version 10.0) all is well!

Balloon Pops Not Working

Terri,
From my experience with other users, there could be a few factors causing this. One factor is your computer speed and memory. Any multimedia object you add also involves use of your computer memory. Typically, if you have a lot of these objects on one page, the limitations of your computer become apparent by way of the objects don't respond like they normally do. You might either try restarting to see if the memory is "flushed" out and/or defragment and scan your computer to fix those memory issues that happen just out of using the computer. If possible, additional RAM and memory might alleviate the problem if you have that option. Another issue you might check out is to make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed. All this objects rely on Flash and if your version is older and/or compromised, this could also be part of the cause. A last resort might be that maybe your Gallery file containing these objects got corrupted somehow. Although this is unlikely, you could easily download the particular gallery from MimioConnect and re-import allowing bad files to be replaced if there are any. If you need anything else, please let me know.

balloon pops

I was having the same problems. I created a memory game before school and it was all set to go, working well I think, but when I had the children use it about 90 minutes later. I took off all the balloons and put them on again fresh and only half the page worked. Very frustrating when you're trying to play a game with the children that they're excited about, and it's not working. :(

Overview files are useful

Hi Laura

If you download the Power Tools overview file, this is explained in step-by-step detail.
I notice that the majority of people downloading don't do this.
I will probably combine both files in the future to avoid this problem.

Removing the blue border

Hi Laura,
I believe you are speaking of the blue border around the different flash animation objects. This blue border appears for all flash objects, including the power pack tools, as well as all video and audio files. The border lets you know that the object can still be moved around the screen. To get rid of this border you will have to lock the object to the page. Do this by selecting the object, then going to Format > Locking > Lock. I hope this helps!

Power Tool Download

Maybe I am nuts but I can't seem to get all of the options to download or I don't know where to look for them. I can find the 4 Reveal but not the other options.
Do I click on open or save? I have the gallery open on my screen like one post suggested. I have clicked on import like another post suggested. Could anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

How to find Power Tools

Hi Jwicker

You only need to double-click on the Power Tools Pack gallery file with your mimio Gallery open on the screen for them to be installed. The Power Tools will be located in their own folder called "Power Tools Pack" in the main gallery window.

Shout out if you need more help.

PowerPack

Oops, pressed a wrong button and did not get my ideas down before I sent~sorry.

Anyway, thanks for asking for suggestions. I have a couple, what about:

Consonant Dice/Vowel Dice - I would like to be able to set up a Boggle Board with the mimio for different spelling activities.

Some way to flip shapes rather than just moving them with the arrow.

Infinite cloning - I know that this is on SmartBoards and love using it!

Flipping - Is there a way you can flip a card to get to an answer?

I hope some of these ideas are possible. Thanks for your efforts.

Why can't I see the Power Tool Pack when I open Mimio...

After visiting the Power Pack Tools and opening the pack, the above attachment section says I did download the pack. But when I open my Mimio Notebook, the pack isn't there. Can it be saved with my Mimio so I can use it each time, or do I have to come back to this site and then open it up each time?

Sorry, I just started using Mimio this week at my school. Thanks!

Power tools pack

Did someone answer your question yet? If you have your Mimio studio open in the background, and download the Power Tools pack, it should go right in (and stay in) your Gallery-you have a new "sub-folder" in your gallery called "Power Tools Pack". It was a while ago when I did it....if that didn't work, download it to your desktop, then at the very top of your gallery click on "Import". Good luck and have fun!

This may not be a tool as

This may not be a tool as such but I know it would make the lives of teachers especially those implimenting the numeracy project in New Zealand easier... A dice we can change the numbers on OR a spinner that when you change the number of sections on it actually stays set at that many number of divisions. I have asked my Mimio rep often and she said she has asked but now I'm putting it out in the open for everyone :o)

powerpack tools

I would really like to see a grouping feature on Mimio. An option to put student names or pictures in slots, then telling the feature that I want 6 groups. then have the feature randomize the groups.

The Hat-Rewards

I can think of a million uses for this. I give tickets when students are caught doing something right. I can put their names in here instead of worring about them keeping up with their tickets! Awesome...thanks for sharing!
