Copy and Paste

Hello. I have been trying to use this since I downloaded it a few days ago. If I type in the names each time it will work. However, no matter how I copy and paste it just pops up another text box on top of the name generator. How do I get this to work? I've tried Crtl C and Crtl V, I've also tried right clicking, nothing works. Thank you!!

I can't wait to use this in my classroom. Students are always raising their hand before called on and before they know the answer. I think this will be a wonderful management tool.

Works Flawlessly

I did as you suggested and put the names of my students in a Word file. Copy and paste works like a charm. And my kids were really engaged, never knowing when "the crystal ball" could call their name.

copy/paste?

Copy/paste solution

You can copy and paste into the crystal ball. Copy from a list as you normally would and then use Ctrl V to paste the list into the crystal ball. Hope that helps!

I am having the same problem

I am having the same problem as a whole bunch of others. When I copy and paste, a text box sits on top of the crystal ball. Did anyone find the cure?

Science/Technology

OMG! I downloaded this in the beginning of the year and didn't really use it until May. I teach Science/Technology to K-5th graders and they all were so engaged and responsive not knowing when their name would be coming up. I used it for vocabulary and review too. The kids loved using it in their own Mimio lessons they created. I am new to this position and it was quite a challenge to learn over 650 student names. This random name generator made it fun and personalized all my lessons. Great Job!

Even high schoolers love

Even high schoolers love this! I like it because students are called randomly. I showed this to one of our preschool teachers and she loved it also! It's for all ages.
Is there any way that I can keep students' names in the collection box? I would like this because I could just copy and paste to another presentation.

Saving Crstal Ball with names

I read the above postings, but not sure of the definitive answer. Can you save names in a ball so you don't have to put them in again every new time you use it?

Crystal Ball

I love this tool. Using this to randomly generate a name to call on keeps students on their toes. I also like that once it goes through all the names it says "No more names", so you know every name has displayed. Super!!

I am trying to make a word

I am trying to make a word document and copy and paste the names into the name box, but I am having the same problem as someone before. It sits on top of the crystal ball as a separate list of names. I cannot get it to work unless I type the names directly into the first page.

When I cut and paste the student names, it comes up as a separate object. How do I imput them into the names list? Also the delete button doesn't work when I am typing in names by hand....help??

This is a really silly

This is a really silly question but how so i write the names in for the crytal ball? I see where you say to write them in but do i have to make a text box? because when i got to type nothing happens and then when i make a text box and type them in, they all show up in the ball at the same time? sorry im so thick :)

Crystal Ball

Once I opened it, the text box showed up,
enter the names separated by a comma. Then they will come up individually.

bill, joey, sally, cindy, etc, etc,

Once you have all the names in, you click here and it will randomly pick a name once you have gone through the list, it will tell you "no more names" you can click on the green "bubble" to start the list over.

This doesn't seem to pick the names randomly for me, they come out in the same order each time. Am I doing something wrong?

Question: I put in my kids' names and when I come back to it from a different page, they are gone. I won't have time to type names before I use it.....any ideas on how to save it so I can use it time and again

I would have the names saved

I would have the names saved and already typed into a word file and then every day or class just cut and paste the list. This is especially helpful when you teach different classes or groups of students.

names in crystal ball

I made a Word list so I could copy and paste because I found the same frustration of leaving the page and all my typing went away. When I hit paste from my Word list, it comes up as a text box that sits overtop of the field. It does not let them go in. What am I doing wrong?

Deleting names?

Thank you for this, I'm having problems deleting individual names. It wants to delete the entire flash file. Is there an easy way to go back and delete names or letters?

If you can see the crystal ball, look at the bottom and you will see a green button, click on that and you will be taken back to the first page. Once there you click on the textbox with all the names and delete or edit from there.
