All About Mexico

The attached lesson plan gives a brief over of Mexico. I used it with my first graders. It can definitely be adjusted to suit older children in the primary grades. There are 3 hyperlinks included with samples of mariachi music, and a "How To" video about pinata making.

Nice overview, but some

Nice overview, but some incorrect information as previously said (Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican independence day, Inca are not from Mexico) and some spelling errors (easily correctable).

Incorrect info

This is a nice presentation, but one thing struck me immediately - 5 de mayo is NOT Independance Day. It is a date of medium hisorical significance, which marks a battle in Puebla, Mexico. Many Mexicans will be offended by others thinking that this is Independance Day - Mexico Independance days (there are 2) are September 15 and 16.
